Streams
We've got hundreds of tracks to upload to Soundcloud, and we're gradually filling them in. Some of these mixes are from 40 years ago (you can tell), and some are from last week. Recording technology has advanced a lot in the intervening years. Some of these are rough mixes and some have been mastered and released. We'd love to hear questions or comments about these songs or talk to you about remixing anything you've got. And we can coach as we go if you want.
RECENT REMIXES
Dan Daley is a musician and music journalist who divides his time between Nashville and New York. He recently brought us some 24-tracks from 39th Street Studios in the early 80s for us to restore. The lyrics and vocals are superb. We've got them ready for streaming release. We particularly like "Restless Heart". "Can't Stop Loving You" really shows off his voice.
We were sent the 24-track master tape of some 1990 tracks by Nashville singer/songwriter Linda Hargrove. Linda wrote many hits for others, including "Tennessee Whiskey". Here's our mix of her rendition of "Let It Shine".
Here's the title song from Kay Vega's upcoming album, released in his native Germany in 2024. We produced, sweetened and mixed based on arrangements and tracks from Tommy Harden. We produced the vocals remotely at Studio Wong in Berlin; thanks to engineer Olli Wong.
The tracks from this 1989 live recording were sent to us by a friend. We did albums with this band in the 70s, and had a blast with this remix of music from their reunion.
Tommy Miles brought us a 24-track he recorded with Spooner Oldham in the 80s. Here's our 2023 mix of one of the tunes.
Brad Smith, a friend of TRC for decades, was a talented songwriter, and we recorded lots of his stuff. For some reason he recorded this tune twice, in 1983 and 1993, so he must have liked the song. Here's our 2021 remix of the tracks we did in 1983.
We recorded albums for this iconic Indy rock band in the 70s, then a live performance in 1980 or so. We restored and remixed that 1980 tape in Nashville in 2016.
The tracks from this 1989 live recording were sent to us by a friend. We did albums with these folks in the 70s, and had a blast with this remix of music from their reunion. This is Faith Band, with special guest Asher Benrubi.
Chuckie Bush recorded and toured with "Baby Face" Edmonds, Manchild, and under his own name. This is the "A" side of his 1982 TRC Records release, produced with Gary Schatzlein and remixed by Mike in 2024.
COUNTRY
We found the 24-track master tape of a 1986 album by Jim Purdy that he thought was lost. Here's our remix of his fabulous cover of an "Alabama" hit.
Our friend Allen Price is working on an album with us. As we often do, we're doing the lead vocals and the mix. Here's a link to his composition "Bendin' Guitar Strings". You can also find it on the streaming services.
Here's the second song from Allen Price's forthcoming album. We did the vocals and the mix. It's also on the streaming services.
We produce music for Kay Vega, a prolific singer/songwriter from Berlin, to distribute in the EU. His main genre is Americana, but this tune has the potential in the U.S. Jackson G sings this demo, with arrangements and tracks by Tommy Harden and production, vocals and mixing here at TRC. So far, not released, so let us know if you want Kay's tune.
Kay Vega, a prolific country singer/songwriter from Berlin, released this song on his 2020 album. Arrangement and tracks by Tommy Harden. We built this American publishing demo with new vocals (Jackson G) and a TRC mix.
Carl Storie made a career as a rock lead vocalist. In this 1990 demo, he returns to his roots as a country singer.
TRC's first country session, sometime in 1974, recorded in Indy with session players imported from Nashville. First time we saw a wallet tossed on a snare drum. Sadly, we couldn't find a label for Louise Morgan, even after changing her name to "Cari Inman".
ROCK
Recorded and remixed in Nashville in 2023, this is part of our "21st Century Classic Rock" project to record 60s and 70s covers with current techniques. Thans for Rudiger for vocals and Jason Harris for guitars. Our favorite Faith Band song.
This is the single from a 1978 album recorded by us in Indy. Written by Faith Band lead singer Carl Storie, this song - released the same day by Faith and Nigel Ollson - charted at #8 and #54.
Krystof Krawczyk is regarded as "the Polish Elvis". We brought him to the U.S. during the Solidarity movement (1981) to record an album for our own label. Here is the single, with kudos to American composer Michael Bryant.
Larry Crane toured and recorded as lead guitarist with John Mellencamp for many years. This is from his self-titled album, recorded by us in Indy in 1984 and produced by Gary Schatzlein.
Gary produced the Peddler debut LP in 1976 for Carl Davis at Chi-Sound UA. Here's a tune from those sessions that didn't make the LP.
Our favorite Guess Who song. We riffed off the live version to create this in the studio.
NASHVILLE ORIGINALS
This album, released in 2024, is a compilation of songs by the band Reformation. It includes singles recorded in Indiana in the early 70s, and seven recent songs from our "21st Century Classic Rock" project, where we cover 60s and 70s songs with today's recording techniques.
From the Reformation "Decades" album. Our favorite Faith Band song. Thanks for Rudiger for vocals and Jason Harris for guitars.
Producer Mitchell Kilpatrick brought 2019 The Voice finalist Matt New up from Texas to get these vocals and mix. The single was released in 2020.
From the Reformation "Decades" album. Thanks to Joel Motel for the vocals. Mike got to play the organ.
Sydney St. George has spent hours doing demos and writing with us. Here's her debut single, produced by Jake Saghi and Mike Robinson. Vocals at TRC.
From the "Decades" album. Thanks to Jason Harris for the guitars.
A cut from the Reformation "Decades" album. Thanks to Joel Motel for lead vocals.
JINGLES
In the 80s and 90s, TRCPG adapted national McDonalds themes written by Barry Manilow for season and regional use, and special promotions. For this TRC production in 1990, the Mickey D folks wanted a "retro" feel.
In the 80s and 90s, TRCPG adapted national McDonalds themes written by folks like Barry Manilow for season or regional use, and special promotions. In 1990, in some markets they were pushing club sandwiches.

From an extravagant show for Hampton Inn franchisees in 1994, announcing international expansion. Our favorite Hilton piece.

The record that started it all. The Chosen Few's 1969 hit single on Talun Stereo got the band an RCA album contract.
Before TRC, there was Talun Record Company, that signed Reformation to its first recording contract in 1971. Here is the first single.
The first national album release by TRC's predecesssor, Talun, was on RCA in 1969. This was the "B" side of the Talun Stereo single.
